<p>Don't worry about medical emergencies etc., CMU has a place to go plus after-hours emergency service.</p>

<p>theres about 6 hospitals within a mile at Pitt for real emergencies. </p>
<p>Don't forget Pgh has nice airport about half an hour from campus and flying can be cheap. We could fly into Philly often round trip $100, definitely under 200 which is a bargain with gas prices now. We are a little over 6 hours away, 374 miles to be exact.</p>
<p>Contacts problems--- make sure you have a pair of glasses in case the eyes need a break for a couple days :).</p>
<p>8hrs by car. but at least theres an airport nearby; my brothers school is 7hrs away but the closest airport to his school is 3hr away.</p>

<p>Days by car, hours by plane. I've been home once this school year (Christmas), but it's not so bad. Sometimes, I think things might have been a litte easier if I could drive to campus, but I don't really mind that much.</p>

<p>i just checked this weekend (as in, drove to cmu). it depends. with breaks and a 45 minute traffic jam at a toll gate made it about 5 hours. but if u just go, and average about 80 miles an hour (as opposed to 75), it wouldn't be terribly difficult to make it there in 4.</p>

<p>Come this summer, when my parents move out to Japan for good... 14 hours by plane :)</p>
<p>All it means to me is my summer trips and some of my breaks will be spent in Tokyo... I have no complaints ;)</p>
<p>50 mins, 70 if traffic is bad...about 40 miles away.</p>
<p>According to mapquest, it will take me 7 hours and 24 minutes to drive the 428.68 miles it takes to get to CMU!</p>
