Two girls from my school just received acceptance letters to CAS...I am still awaiting Gallatin...anyone else hear anything?

where do you live cupofjoeplease21?

I live in upstate NY.

real acceptance letters or invites to sunday at the square?

at this point its probably real letters...
i hope they fedex them since i live abroad... at least the acceptance letters

Hmm...that's weird. I haven't gotten any letter yet, and I live pretty close to NYU...are you sure it isn't a Sunday on the Square invite or an invite to a CAS reception?

I am 100% positive that they are acceptance letters

has anyone who applied to Stern heard yet?

what were their stats?

I believe one of the girls is ranked 5/600ish with low 1200s on SATs. The other girl is Indian and is ranked in top 10% with 1460 on SATs.

r us sure cupofjoe??? nyu is NOT SUPPOSED TO send out letters till apr 1st...either nyu went illegal or they're likelies

It is very possible official acceptances and rejections have started going out. I think NYU gives the April 1 date as an approximate date. For ED they said December 15 was the official notification date, but many people heard before that date. My daughter heard on Dec. 13. The packets arrive by regular mail, not FedEx. I can tell you firsthand that much of the info given out by NYU regarding dates is not always accurate. We were told (by NYU) ED students would have housing info in early March and we haven't gotten anything yet. You will have your decision soon. Good luck!

I am 100% sure that they were accepted. These girls are not the type to lie.

Why couldn't they send before April 1st? They're not under the same rules as the Ivies.

I can tell you they've already made decisions for sure. I got a phone call from one of their English profs (John Maynard) telling me I got in two nights ago. So, I imagine they're for real.

I still seriously doubt it. I live not 20 minutes away from NYU, I got an invitation to Sunday in the Square, and I haven't recieved an acceptance letter. If they had been mailed out and arrived upstate yesterday, they would have arrived here yesterday or today, and they did not.

However, I've been telling people that I've been accepted since an invitation to SITS is basically an acceptance. Maybe they are doing the same.

Since the letters are supposed to arrive around the 1st maybe they've held on to the close ones so that they can arrive at around the same time as everyone elses.

the letters are to be mailed april 1st or sometimes around then i believe. i still doubt they are acceptance letters. how come no one else has received one? it doesnt matter its less than 2 wks away.

Yeah, but letters to upstate NY should deliver in 1-2 days

I don't understand it, however, someone in my school who got no likely letters or anything said he got an official acceptance yesterday and didn't reveal the school to me. Me and a few others got the sunday at nyu thing (a.k.a. likely letter) and we didn't hear yet.

does anyone know when people got their letters last year?
