The title of my essay will be "Eyeballs for Dinner."
My topic is going to be rather trivial, as a child I refused to eat Chinese food or my mom's own cooking at my house for nearly ten years, and my parents basically fed me off fast-food. I did this because I saw all my friends eating American food and I felt left out. I wanted to be "American" in all aspects. My whole essay is essentially about food.

As I grew up, however, I started becoming open to new ideas and new cultures, soon I was learning more about my own culture. The tone is fairly light and I believe it will bring a welcome change to essay readers who see personal tragedy, poverty or suffering all the time.

However, in terms of substance my essay will still cover the topics of assimilation, counter-culture/culture, biases, diversity, open mindedness, and humor.

What do you guys think? I have a rough draft available if you want to PM me, I will also evaluate your essay if you evaluate mine.
