I'm passionate about cancer advocacy, and I think it shows in my ECs (most are cancer related). In my common app personal statement and short answer, I wrote on topics that weren't related to cancer. For some of my other schools, the supplement questions included prompts to talk about future goals/etc.

However, since WUSTL doesn't have a supplement, would admissions wonder why I didn't bother talking about it? I'm worried-- should I change my short answer?

You could always add a short blurb about your passion in the “additional information” section of the common app. I have actually read that the personal statement should reveal something about yourself that the adcoms wouldn’t find elsewhere in your application. This is what my son did, and he is now a very happy freshman at Wash U.
