I am going to be a Senior this year. As a Junior, I made a 30 on my ACT. I always assumed I would be going to a Community College because I was never involved in school life, sports, extra curriculars, etc. However, my dad would still like me to apply to colleges.
Do you think it's possible to be accepted to instate colleges with a 60% acceptance rate?

Depends what the school is and if you have any extracurriculars and what your GPA is and stuff. Some instate public schools should for sure take you with a 30 ACT and a decent GPA.

You can definitely find the right college for you. Just state more information and the state your from and anyone on cc w

Thank you for the replies! My GPA is a 4.0 as of last year and I live in TN My friends are applying to UT, Carson-Newman, ETSU, LMU, etc. (All above 65% acceptance)
With a 30, are these the kind of colleges I should be shooting for?

yeah it depends on your GPA and what state you’re in honestly. If you have a 30 and no extra curriculars at all and you want to apply to UNC Chapel Hill then no you wont get in.

30 is a very strong ACT score — definitely “worthy” of admission to a reputable 4-year college.

If your UW GPA is a 4.0 (is that all 3 years of HS so far?) why did you even consider going to a community college when there are plenty of schools that would accept you even if you didn’t do any ECs.
