Nothing to do here, what happens on your campus?

I go to a smaller-sized public engineering college in NYS. The male/female ratio is very lopsided, the school is located in a not-so-exciting city, and some people treat the place as if it were a community college, or a place where you go for basket weaving. This has put a damper on many people and they often feel like there's nothing to do.

One issue I see is freshmen can have cars on campus, and only 25% dorm.

There are about 20 clubs on campus, half are for the "geeks" and people who like to play card games. The other half are things like volunteering, intramurals and media. There isn't Greek Life on campus, which could be a good thing.

There are events, but it's normally things like "Game Night," "Movie Night," etc.

I have the ability to make suggestions on a lot as I'm with the student government on campus. If you go to a similar-sized school, what do students do for fun, or how different is the college life?

I’d also like to add I’m a freshman, just started a couple months ago. Life around campus just seems a little nonexistent. It also hasn’t been easy for me to make friends, and people often leave campus in packed cars to go shopping across town (since not much is up this way). So if you want to go off campus, you either need to find a friend or take the city bus.

Im in the same boat. There are some clubs where I am, but they all meet at night. Im not making any friends either way.

My school is a public, urban commuter school in MA – we have a very diverse student body (in terms of age, background, race, etc) – but it’s changing pretty quickly and becoming a lot more “traditional.” However, since there are still a lot of people who attend part time, who are older, who have full time jobs, etc, there isn’t really a huge social scene. People have their friends and then they hang out off campus in the city. I think there are quite a few clubs but they aren’t incredibly active, especially towards the middle and end of the year.

My school is great for kids who just want a degree for relatively low cost - especially for kids who are gunning for grad school (we have a ton of pre-med kids); but not so great for kids who are looking for a college experience. There aren’t any dorms, nor are there any parties, etc.

I currently go to a small private Christian college. Need i say more?

No not really.
