mrmo, my DD is waiting on an ED I from Bowdoin – I keep checking in here to see if anyone is reporting having received their responses yet, and so far it doesn’t look like anyone here has. The waiting is not fun! :)

How long do you think it takes to get to Texas? I think Sat. Or Monday. What are your thoughts?

usps says regular mail takes 2-3 days in the continental us

We are nervous in Texas also. We are leaving town on Sunday so I am hopeful it arrives on Saturday. My DS applied ED1 and hasn’t completed any other applications. He is hopeful for Bowdoin and hasn’t had the time to write others. He will have a busy break if the letter is small. Good luck to everyone!

This is my second time through this process. My S1 applied ED (or EA, I dont remember) to another school and was deferred and eventually denied. The last two weeks of December were very busy but the outcome was better than he could have imagined. He received several acceptances in RD and absolutely loves the school he chose. He is now a sophomore and can’t imagine being happier anywhere else and now thinks his original first choice wasn’t a good choice. So while a deferral or denial will be disappointing, everything will work out for everyone and possibly for the better. Of course, even though I know this I am still very hopeful for a positive answer!

Good luck everyone! Why do you all think no one (even those living in Maine) received a letter yesterday of they were mailed out on Tuesday?

lhornmom, just fyi – I understand the difference between the acceptance and deferred/denied letters is 2 pages instead of 1, so if it’s a skinny envelope, don’t assume he’s been deferred/denied. :)

I think we can’t assume that no one in ME or the NE or international have received their letters/emails yet. It could also that once they receive an acceptance, the last thing they’re thinking of is updating this thread. Or once they receive a deferral/denial, they don’t feel like coming in here. I hope it’s the former!

I promise whatever my DD hears, I’ll at least come in here and let folks know the letter did arrive in SW Ohio! :)

Well I got my letter today, nothing surprising with what it said. I’m assuming everyone will get it either today or tmr.

I’m an international student and I got my acceptance email on Tuesday! I got the actual letter today; they sent it by Fedex so it got here really quickly. Best of luck to everyone!

Everyone post their stats!!

I got rejected yesterday. Oh well.

rejected:( stats are on a chance me thread

I’m actually very surprised. Looking at your stats, they definitely looked good enough. Crazy how these college acceptances go.

I’m a double legacy and certainly missed a huge opportunity. I’m not suggesting that I should have gotten in because of my two siblings but, it’s rare in my opinion to have three people from the same family go to the same school. Good luck to the rest of you all!

My D was deferred. Frustrating. Haven’t found any stats on what deferred students chances are in RD.

I honestly am not expecting much anymore. Seeing these people get rejected isn’t encouraging. A deferral to save my pride is starting too seem a lot better.

…

Godzilla - no legacy preference for siblings at Bowdoin - only for children and grandchildren of alums

Yeah torasee, I figured that out the hard way. :(

I was pleasantly surprised to see the letter in my mailbox today. I’m in West Texas, so I was not expecting it until Friday or Saturday at the earliest.
Good luck to all of those still anxiously waiting!

rejected…
congratulations to those who got in by the way.
now its time for me to move on…

to those accepted–what did the letter look like? bigger envelope? or regular size?
