Hi. I've just recently joined CC after hanging around for a while. Because I am an international applicant, I was wondering how the schools will notify international applicants. What about the time difference?

We were in your boat last year. The schools which post to their portals (you log in and see your result) usually posted sometime in the morning of March 10th, local time. So you would be able to see your results at the same time as everyone in the domestic applicant pool. For the other schools, which notify by snail mail, we received an email with a copy of the letter. Again, these came in the morning of March 10th, local time, but maybe a little bit later. I remember getting some as late as noon EST. Good luck to you!

Andover told us they email international applicants but snail mail domestic. If you are a domestic who is going to be traveling internationally, you have to wait til you get home to get your mail or you wait until March 17 to call them.

Are there any specific schools that you are asking about?

@GMC2918-Thank you! I can’t wait for M10…The day is drawing closer and closer, and I feel nervous and excited at the same time So it doesn’t matter whether you are an international applicant or domestic applicant; you will be getting the results at the same time as others, right?

@dowzerw-I am an international student :)

@prepschoolhopes-I was just wondering in general, because like GMC2918 mentioned in the comment, some schools post the results on their portals and some email them to you. But they all had different time for notification, so I was getting a bit confused ;)

You will get the results at the same time as everyone else for the most part. The only exception being schools that mail letters to domestic applicants and email them to international applicants. In those cases, you could hear before other domestic applicants. But from a time-zone POV, the schools will operate in their own time zones.

If the schools are doing the same as when GMTson1 was admitted, then u will not get all the goodies (T-shirts, posters, candy, etc) mailed overseas to u.

@GMC2918, @GMTplus7: I see…only 3 more days to go!

Isn’t it four?

Not that I would be complaining I’d it was three

I’m an international student, so here it is 3 days till M10

The notifications happen on the prep schools’ time zone. So if u are in Asia, that means waiting another half day.

But it’s still the same time, right?

Like, as in the moment they come out.

Yes

I live internationally, can’t believe I have to wait another half a day until the results. I’ll be squeamish and so anxious when I have school that day.

I am so nervous…Does anyone know how NMH is announcing the results?
