Notre Dame chances

Hey I was just wondering what you guys think of my chances, I hope to aply soon but we will see, I have some things I do not like on my transcript.

Current School: Florida International University
Gpa: currently 3.47
Mojor: Economics
Course Load: I think its great, almost finished all my undergraduate course work, and have taken 6 economics courses, 2 upper division courses, already finished all my economics course i need to get into the college of arts. I have one year calculus, hopefully take calc 2 in the fall, taken stats and measurements and analysis
Act: 27 composite
Sat: 1170 (so ACT would be the highest)
second semester sophmore
Honors: Dean's List, and multiple Economics groups such as ODE
Highschool: Not so good, top 20%, 3.1 gpa

What I am trying to draw from them is that I am a Latino American, and also inner city youth, worked to support the house so could not join every group I wanted in school, I commute to school so I cannot be there for a long time.

What would you guys say?

I just applied today with a 3.9 HS, 3.5, 31 act, a rec from a former professor... not that that answers your question.

for the same major??? Hey goodluck to you, hopefully I will see you there

biochem major

I'm also applying to ND as a transfer. Did you guys do the "optional" professor recommendation? I did.

i did times 2

you can have more than 1 recommendation for ND? i wasn't aware of that. do they all have to be from a professor?

I think you can have as many as you like, but that does not mean they like it. They rather have one concise recommendation than two that do not tell the commitee much about yourself.... they also want one from somebody who most knows you, bc many people can always have some CEO from blah blah to write them one, but it does not help if they do not know anything about you

So nobody has judged me yet.... Simple Yes or No, details are welcomed but not really needed, so CC YES or NO??

CCG,

There is no fix or simple formula to equate whether you are admitted into a university or not.

It is redundant if anyone in a CC says either a yes or a no.

There are numerous factors there goes into the decision making for admissions. Simple but highly determining factors - essays, recommendations short answers, etc etc.

so if you want an answer here it is - Yes

But, as I said earlier, my answer proves nothing but merely a comforting assurance to you that a possibility exists.

xeacon you are correct, but says i came on here to find out the truth??? lol.... i believe all of us and more come just for assurance, so thank you for that :)

I think you look like you have a good chance, but I heard communicating with the admissions office increases your chances.........GOOD LUCK (maybe I'll see you there, I was accepted EA as a freshman)
