Yes it is accurate, I went to an info session with Don Bishop, who is the head of admissions, and he said he hoped to get decisions out on the 10th but they may also come out on the 12th.
@scaredaboutsat How long ago was was your info session? If it wasn’t recent, the portal email being sent out on the 7th may indicate that they are running behind as it was sent out exactly a week before decisions last year
73 says it was a fairly recent statement made by Don Bishop. Who knows, until we know.
I went to my info session with Don Bishop on Nov 28th… I just talked to a friend whose mom has a friend who works at ND, she was saying that her friend said decisions will come out the earliest on the 13th
Sorry meant to say the 12th****
That makes sense since the 12th is a Monday. It was a Monday last year. But last year that first email went out on a Monday as well. So we will probably start to hear between Monday and Wednesday. Just a guess.
So much speculation… I wish they’d just announce when.
Agreed^
@arp987 are you a Questbridge Finalist? I AM actually waiting on a Columbia ED decision as well as a ND REA decision as well because I applied to both through Questbridge and was not matched, and both schools allow for your app to roll over into early admissions. That being said, I called both schools to confirm that the decisions were not binding, and whereas Columbia is, ND is not and allows you to apply to other binding schools. I am, however, a special case because of my position as a Questbridge Finalist, but did want to explain here to everyone else on the board that YES, there is a legal way to be waiting on both results! (and I do know these are not the general rules of REA and ED for either school, but they make an exception for Questbridge students as they have had our apps since late October and already have an idea on whether we will be accepted or not…in fact, the only option to apply that ND gives you is EA!
@nerdbregade that is really great info to know and never would have known hadn’t you told us. Thanks and good luck to you! It makes sense.
Any idea if they may release in the morning? Or is it pretty consistently in the evening? No real need, I am just curious if refreshing a hundred times every day could be cut into half.
@CheckMyBrain11: I don’t know if access to a portal has been done long enough to establish a pattern, but I thinkND may wait until kids are out of school for the day across the country before releasing them. Can you imagine if kids were in class finding out admissions decisions? What I can remember from last year was that the decisions were released a day or two before we expected them, but it was in the evening.
@Ruby789 fair enough. I’ll start waiting until an hour after I get out of school to check the portal. I’ve been so excited and anxious!
I’ve been thinking that they’ll come out tomorrow or Wednesday. this waiting is killing me!!
Reminder to everyone: Stay positive at all times! God has a plan for you and we will all end up in the school we belong. I have kept reminding myself this because all the waiting can get quite stressful, but it will all work out!
So easy to forget in this stressful time! Thank you for that
@CheckMyBrain11 I read in another thread that they release at 6:42 pm, which is the university’s founding year in military time (1842). I am not sure if this is true, but if it is, you might be notified around 7 pm to check your status. I’m hoping that they release tomorrow night!
I heard that too ^^. And I am also thinking tomorrow or Wednesday because last year they found out on Monday December 14 and tomorrow is a Monday and Wednesday is the 14th.
My (un)educated guess is tomorrow night at whatever time they do it at.
11/1/2015 was a Sunday and decisions were released Monday 12/14 – six weeks and one day later.
11/1/2016 was Tuesday. Six weeks and one day would be Wednesday 12/14. FWTW.
