I got denied. Stings a little because it was my top school, but I have been admitted into Tulane and SMU with sizable scholarships, so I’m not feeling too bad.
Denied… sort of surprised i wasn’t even deferred with 32 act top 7% two varsity sports all 4 years, nhs, 9 ap courses and 1 dual credit… really demoralizing…
My daughter is at work and can’t use her phone till she finishes at 9PM. I am more nervous than her. Congrats to the young people and their parents who were accepted. Good luck to those deferred for eventual acceptance.
If any parents or admits have any questions about my experiences at ND so far (Freshman here) or questions about the rest of the process up until move-in day or any general questions about ND feel free to shoot them my way and I’d be happy to answer.
@gianraf what’s your experience with the dorms and the workload?
denied… definitely taking a toll on me
@alane98 In my experience, guys love the aspect of single-sex dorms a lot more than girls. Here in my dorm, I feel a strong sense of brotherhood and family but talking to my girl friends they tell me that their dorms are much more cliquey and they have a smaller group of friends. Of course these experiences vary from dorm to dorm. As a STEM major here I probably have one of the tougher workloads here besides probably the engineers and architects, however I feel that I still have a fair amount of free time (I usually go out 2 or 3 times a week). Workload varies a lot from major to major. It is doable though and I feel that I’ll be ending this semester with a decent GPA for a first semester in college.
Rejected… I was expecting one tbh, but for some reason, I kept on believing and hoping that by some miracle, they might accept me… I was obviously wrong. This IS my dream college. My dad went to Notre Dame and he loved it. The legacy factor probably didn’t help me too much then…
Got rejected. 32 act 93.6 unweighted gpa varsity basketball captain full ib diploma. Pretty bummed but expected it…
Those of you that got accepted… what were your ACT scores?
@brotherstwo 34c ACT and 2250 SAT (1530 cr + m).
My daughter (accepted) had a 35 on ACT (and 800 Reading, 740 Math on SAT). Also straight A’s with max # of AP classes permitted at her high school.
Denied. Applied for Economics after getting double 5’s on the AP tests, getting into states for Fbla and the national econ challenge and getting over 100% in the class. I guess on a 1400/1600 didn’t help me, but the passion I had in my essays I swore could have overlooked that for a truly holistic look, especially with a 4.0 UW and 4.81 W GPA. Really sucks. ND was just the dream school that managed to mix everything I want, especially an international econ major. Definitely taking a toll on me, so I guess we’ll see where life takes me.
Denied, definitely disappointed
Accepted! 36 ACT.
Accepted! Couldn’t be more excited!!
Accepted!! ND is one of my favorite schools, so I am ecstatic!
@brotherstwo 1580/1600 on SAT, 34 ACT. Pretty sure that carried my application because everything else was unremarkable.
I didn’t get in, but to all of you that did, CONGRATS! you might be living in one my favorite schools ever this time next year, please cheer on the irish for me. To those of you that also didn’t get in, you are all amazing students and I know that you’ll end up at a school thats just perfect for you. Group hug
Deferred. After getting deferred from Georgetown as well today, I’m about done for the week (or year) (or life) (bout to be an ex-catholic)
