Notre Dame EA decision announcement date

Last year (2012) the school posted on Twitter and Facebook on Thursday that the letters were going in the mail that day. My son in Indianapolis received his on Saturday. If they do the same this year, the letters would go out on December 19.

Good luck to all.

This is so frustrating. All my other friends who applied ED/EA find out Sunday at the latest and they’ll already know where they’re going and I’ll still be sitting here like “I have no idea when I even get my letter.” Ughhh.

Irisooer, did u contact the admission office and was told that mailing date is the 17th?

Yes, I called. They sounded as if they’d been called many many many times recently and shortly said the 17th. They didn’t clarify if the letters were being sent or if that’s when we would know unfortunately. I’m assuming it will be the mailing date.

Thanks for the info, isriooer!

Thank you! I feel a lot better knowing that

My friend’s counselor called admissions to see if he could hear his decision early because he is going out of town next week. The admissions officer declined, of course, and said to wait until Tuesday when they will send out letters. I think it’s pretty safe to say they will go out on the 17th.

Both of my kids who applied to ND got their EA letters on a Saturday (northern Chicago suburbs)! It seems as if it would have been today, by those standards, but I would look for them next Saturday! Daughter got hers in "06 and son’s was last year. I was decorating the tree in the living room waiting for the mail truck! Raining, sleeting, but it finally came (very late) but had that big envelope! Nothing like it! Best of luck and love to all waiting!

So acceptance letters are always large envelopes and deferred/rejected are small envelopes?

@MidwesternHeart yes.

Anybody knows how and when will international students get the decision?

Back in November when Notre Dame received all the materials for my application, they said that I would get notified via mail (no online notification) on the 20th of December

Dear Op-Mail service in Central America is not to be relied upon in efficiency…are you sure we won’t get emails instead ? Who knows ?

Given that several posters have called and gotten the answer of the 17th, my guess is that is when they will be mailed. Expect, then, to get the letter somewhere between the 18th and the 21st, depending on where you are or the mail delivery around these holidays. I would guess, being in Ohio, that we will get the news on the 20th…but that is just an estimate. Look to ND Admissions Twitter page and/or the Admissions Facebook page for a post as to when they’ve been mailed.

I would love a Christmas surprise of a mailing tomorrow, but I have a feeling they stick to their timetable pretty carefully.

Good luck and God Bless to all who applied. If you get in, that’s awesome. If you don’t, you were meant to be somewhere else. I have to keep telling myself this, or I won’t make it to Friday!!! All in God’s Plan…

I’m from Chicago, so I will probably be one of the first to receive my letters. I will post right away!

Freckles12: THANK YOU!!! We would all appreciate it – and good luck to you!!!

My friend knows someone who works in admissions and they said that they mailed letters out on Friday.

nickstiker23: Oh, that’s interesting! I thought they were mailing on the 17th. Maybe they will come tomorrow then.

I warn y’all of trusting nick. Nothing personal to Nick, its just that a couple of people have already attempted to ■■■■■ this board. Let’s just expect the letters to be sent on Tuesday and if they come out earlier, fantastic!

Agree… The other trollsters have had almost no other posts, which is the case for nick here. I don’t trust his info at all.
