My guess is that if they admit you in July they’ll let you take the class at notre dame but it seems unlikely that if we haven’t heard by then that we’ll get in. I mean they only admit around 175 and they’ve already accepted a lot of people so it seems like the likelihood of an acceptance gets smaller and smaller with each day that passes. I also don’t believe that this whole process is done on a rolling basis like they claim since people who submitted their CA and other info after me have already been accepted.

I agree. So I’m really worried that if I don’t hear soon, it will be too late to take summer classes, and that means they’re not going to admit me. But hey, at least we haven’t been rejected yet! We’re still in the running so that’s a positive.

I dunno about that, on every thread I’ve seen they literally admit people up until July 1, or in our case probably July 15. Heck I’ve seen people get in on July 1. So for now no news is good news!!

Yeah! In the meantime we just have to sit back and try to enjoy our summer (and maybe watch the World Cup). It’s hard to have to wait for this long though. Especially now that it may be 15 days longer than we previously thought.

About the merit scholarship, I was mistaken, it had nothing to do with why I was called today. But they do award merit scholarships to some music majors who are transfers. Not sure about other arts or academic merit scholarships.

Oh cool you’re a music major? I’m not but I’ve done a lot in music and I hope that my music supplement and other related EC’s will help in the admissions process.

Yeah I’m a music major what instrument do you play?

I play percussion. I’ve definitely tried to let Notre Dame know how much I want to be in the marching band and jazz and wind ensembles. What about you?

Oh cool! I’m a singer. I wish I could play the drums or some kind of percussion instrument though (other than the piano). Good luck, hope to see you around the music school!

Thanks! Congrats to you and hopefully I’ll see you around next fall!

@unlimited8 when did you submit your common app?

Just got a call yesterday saying I was accepted! 3.8 GPA, would enter as a Film/Television/Theatre major. Letters should be coming in the mail for everyone next week! Also, it’s conditional on me completing a math class (which I’m not sure I can do this summer due to working full time). Anyone know if this is a hard & fast rule? I’ve heard rumors of exceptions being made so people can take the second math class first semester instead.

Congrats @soccerkween! When did you submit your common app? Just trying to get a gauge on whether they’re informing people in order of their application date

Also @soccerkween if you don’t mind posting, what were your other numbers? SAT/ACT, high school GPA, and what school are you transferring from?

@goirishhh I submitted my common app on January 20 and the supplement on April 8.

I just finished my last final yesterday, so now I’m playing the summer waiting game with you guys haha. Still won’t be able to send spring quarter grades until June 23. I did just come across an old email from admissions that I had completely forgotten about, and I had asked about the time discrepancy for my grades since they come out so late, and the lady had said that it wouldn’t hurt me in any way. Phew!

@goirishhh , I sent all the materials in the last day possible, as usual. I think they only called me to give me a heads up about the class. 2200 SAT, 3.8 high school GPA, transferring from Syracuse. Still not sure what’s going to happen - there really doesn’t seem to be any way I can take a class this summer because of my internship.

Ah so much for rolling basis! I sent my common app and supplement weeks before you then and I’ve heard nothing. Not sure how they’re reviewing applications.

Hey I need help… I just got in with a contingent acceptance. I am an international student and am back home now. I got the acceptance letter less than a week ago and it is already too late to register for any summer course that I know. I’ve already sent an email to the admission office asking about this situation but have not gotten any reply back. I am super worried now. Can anyone let me know any online course that I can take right now and complete before going to ND in the coming fall?

Talk to the admissions office. Notre dame will not accept most online course work. Maybe you can take the required class during fall semester.
