Notre Dame Fall 2014 Transfer Thread

Getting really discouraged now seeing and hearing all about the acceptances and not a word from notre dame. I hope they are not making us wait all this time on pins and needles just to send out a mass of rejections.

I think that’s what they did with the waitlist: they did a few waves of acceptances then sent everyone else a letter saying the waitlist was closed.

Except for transfers they claim the decisions are made on a rolling basis which is clearly untrue. People who turned in their apps at the last minute have already gotten their decisions while people who turned in their apps earlier are left wondering. Very untruthful

some people are more clearly accept/deny, and other people who are more ambiguous are definitely going to receive decisions later. I heard on a visit a few days ago that they just recently switched everything over to digital, so a lot of the publications have been sent out later than usual this year.

@IliketoFence‌ what publications are you referring to?

regular decision came out like a week later than usual this year, and some of the information regarding classes, setting up your net id, and other stuff came later

Anyone hear anything today?

Mail already came, no news today

Crazy

Besides the one person that posted on here, has anyone received a rejection or personally know anyone who has received a rejection in the transfer pool? It seems like they’ve only sent acceptances so far except for someone who needed to know by a certain date.

They’ve sent some rejections already, too.

I know that’s what they told us but does anyone know for sure? I personally don’t know anyone who’s gotten a rejection but I do know several admits. They SAID they already sent rejections but they also said this was all on a rolling basis…so does anyone know of anyone who has been rejected?

I guess we can’t know for sure until we have more evidence. I’d like to think they’ve sent out rejections as well. Maybe people who don’t get in are less eager to post about it online than someone who received an acceptance. Once I find something out I will definitely let you guys know. Based on what’s happened in the past, people do get accepted later in the month, not just at the beginning!

I have to agree that people are less eager to post rejections. It seems everyone who has posted here is a qualified candidate so it’s all about what admissions is looking for. I will definitely post anything I hear as well.

Don’t know how much this means but I was accepted to Vanderbilt about a month after they first started releasing decisions. I hated the agony of not hearing until that late but I was accepted, so from what I can tell there is no reason to lose hope! The agony is horrible and ND told me I would hear by now, but hopefully our patience will be rewarded!

@pfricano3‌ I remembering you mentioning that you had to make a binding housing commitment with Vanderbilt. How did you handle that?

@goirishhh I decided to pay it. My parents said they would cover it, but I really hope ND tells me soon so I don’t have to make a difficult decision like that again because I don’t even know if I would leave my current school to go to Vandy.

That’s tough. I hope the deposit wasn’t too high. If you don’t get into ND you think you’ll stay at your current school? A whole other aspect to think about is the fact that most transfers don’t get on campus housing at ND so there’s the whole stress of looking for an apartment off campus

@goirishhh It’s been a very difficult and stressful process. Right now I’m leaning toward staying at my current school and just keeping my GPA high for law school if I don’t get into ND, but I still haven’t made that decision yet as I’m waiting on ND.

It looks like in past threads people have posted about not getting in around early June. So they’ve definitely denied people in early June in the past. And man, that’s a rough situation but I hope you get to do what you truly want and deserve! It’s been a very stressful few weeks and I just hope we all get some good news after having to wait so long.
