Thank you so much @momof2eagles ! I’m looking into the ALSF program.
your welcome. keep googling. see my earlier posts about COOKE HONORS COLLEGE PROGRAM AND PUEBLO INGLES. many great opps out there you just have to check. even guidance counselor didnt seem to know about these opps but not hard to find them just by googling. also another one more environ. friendly ALSO FREE AND GOV. RUN
So does this mean if we do not see the confirmation online we’re for sure rejected? Btw congrats to all that got in already!
i would call up to confirm. they are definitely sending a letter out by snail mail to confirm acceptances and also denials according to the secretary i talked to. i still think very easy to miss the small typing /conf at bottom of online app and maybe they didnt update everyones app so i would call. also a chance of waitlist and according to this thread some people did get off the waitlist last yr. if you are too anxious to wait for this by snail mail (they said all were postmarked monday) than call.
@momof2eagles what number did you call them at? I had a question for them but I couldn’t get through on multiple tries.
@momof2eagles they were postmarked monday? It says online 3/16. Did they finish early?
I received my rejection letter today…are they sending out waitlist letters? Or if people are accepted and decide not to attend, do they just pick someone off the top of the rejection list to take their spot?
@annachronism you received a physical letter? What state are you from? I thought they weren’t being post marked until early next week.
I also received my rejection letter today. The letter was actually postmarked the 9th.
I have not received a physical letter or the confirmation form online…
they sent out letters(snail mail) monday 3/9. still havent gotten our and we live in Pa. but do see confirmation link he is in at bottom of App. I called the Precollege programs phone number to confirm.
I know it can be really upsetting to be rejected but after seeing my oldest go through the college process and summer precollege program applications i have a better understanding that it is not always about “not being good enough”. This program was certainly about college recruitment for 100 kids to ND and increasing their DIVERSITY at ND by giving 100 diverse kids(geographic, religious, cultural, socioeconomic, etc) a chance to fall in love with ND this summer. YES I do think you had to have certain Stats but also diversity was the key. I believe they rejected a lot of kids who they know will apply to ND anyway and admit 100 kids to the summer program to increase their diversity pool at their college. In my son’s case he had great standarized testing scores but I believe that what set him apart was being jewish. I know that doesnt sound fair.
someone asked the phone number of the precollege programs
Telephone: 574.631.0990
@momof2eagles - the program told me they were accepting 90 kids out of over 800 who applied – did they tell you it was 100?
i believe so. according to website(cut and paste)
Expenses for students accepted to Leadership Seminars —including transportation to and from Notre Dame— will be paid for by the University. Approximately 100 students are admitted to Leadership Seminars each year, and students are eligible to receive one college credit upon completion of the program. Secretary i talked to said they got around 820 apps this year and i believe she said 100 accepted
Does this mean that anyone who did not get a confirmation form got rejected?
I don’t know that I would assume that. Previous threads alluded to letters that mentioned a wait list – so, it could be that if you didn’t get a confirmation you still might be wait listed, and your letter would say so.
i would call the precollege number i listed if you can’t wait for the snail mail that got postmarked monday 3/9. most likely not into program if you don’t see the confirmation link at the bottom of the application but call to check . hoping you get good news but look at my other post in this thread for other great summer low cost/free opp
OH MY GOSH I AM SO EXCITED I GOT ACCEPTED! This is so encouraging for me and I am reinvigorated with enthusiasm to complete my Questbridge application.
Are most people checking online or getting their letters in the mail?
