Notre Dame rescind policy?

wait so does notre dame require applicants to send in their first semester grades?
if so is there a certain deadline they would have to be in by?

^no

/10char

Out of curiosity, what would be other reasons for having an acceptance rescinded besides a dip in grades? Like any past examples?

^ other than major things like cheating, getting arrested or something major, I doubt anything.

What did you have in mind?

nothing has happened to me but i was just wondering how careful i need to be before school actually starts there in august. i mean there would be no reason for my hs to contact them besides major things like suspension or expulsion (which iā€™m obviously not near to). just can never be too careful haha

I agree with jcold9, it would have to be something along the lines of academic dishonesty, serious bullying, committing a felony, or not graduating high school.

Donā€™t cheat, treat people badly, or become a criminal, and youā€™ll be fine.

Iā€™m an unhooked applicant, and I got in. While my junior and senior years were nearly entirely As and one B (start of jr year), my freshman and sophomore years were a sea of As, Bs, and a couple Cs. My final GPA by the RD deadline was ~3.65. ND doesnā€™t admit students based solely upon their stat blocks.

If you actially got an ā€œFā€ for your semester grade, I think you should prepare for the worst. I just donā€™t feel Notre Dame will be able to overlook that. Good luck!

It turned out alright for me so itā€™s okay, guys. Iā€™ll be attending in the fall! I didnā€™t get the F and they didnā€™t rescind me :p.

OMG this is making me freak out!!! PLEASE HELP ME.
so this semester iā€™m getting a c in ap bio, physics, and most likely ap french. last semester, i got a b in bio, a c in physics, and a d in ap french. will nd rescind my admission?!?! should i call them and explain???

you dont need to explain, if they have any problems theyā€™ll email you. its possible that in the amount of transcripts they receive it wont be any problem and will be overlooked. either way no one gets rescinded automatically, they ask you for a letter of explanation if they think your grades are really bad. I think youā€™ll be fine, but try to get your grades up to Bs if you can. it will definitely help.

Absolutely pathetic that those of you with Cs would be acceptedā€¦

I agree. I thought ND had much higher standards than that. An F? Maybe my DD should look somewhere else.

How could you know this? Did your school already send grades?

This is a thread about final grades of those already accepted. But accepting students with a C or two if they otherwise prove themselves is hardly a terrible offense.

Absolutely pathetic that you would be so judgmentalā€¦

Note that the poster did not receive an F. Failure of a course is cause for rescission, as is what happens with accepted students who fail courses. But if your daughter has a similar judgmental attitude, I agree, perhaps she should look elsewhere.

Billy, I talked to my admissions counselor and it was all fine. Also, Iā€™m sure those guys are ā– ā– ā– ā– ā– ā– but Idc.
