What ND network in the IT world are you talking about? Such thing does not exist. ND is almost non-existent in the IT world. Berkeley is one of the top 10 for computer science and the atmosphere is supportive to those students who are majoring in it.

Yeah, I’m confused, too. What are you talking about, OP?

Cal for sure

The OP may be talking about ND’s famous alumni networking, but not specifically about IT

Yes. I have heard that ND is known for outstanding alumni networking. So it is really easy to get a job in any field

Berkeley EECS career surveys:
https://career.berkeley.edu/Major/EECS.stm
https://career.berkeley.edu/Major2011/EECS.stm

You can compare this to ND’s CS outcomes, if they collect and publish the info.

These are 2 schools with completely different feels. It would seem that one would have a decided preference for one over the other.

A school’s alumni network isn’t magically going to get you a job. Being known for having a rigorous program and producing great comp. sci / engineering majors is really good for getting recruited by the top tech companies (many of which are nearby) and getting recruited.

Unless ND network is huge and powerful and/or is more powerful than Berkeley’s, then it would make sense to pick it over other schools. But I have not known ND to have a strong representation in the IT world, so if you’re intention is to work in the field, ND network is useless. Berkeley has a much, much better network than ND in the IT world. It would make more sense to pick Berkeley over ND for comsci.
