I have a sibling who is a freshman at Notre Dame. I have very strong essays and EC’s, but GPA and ACT on the low end for notre dame. I have showed a lot of interest and made that clear in my essays and have been in contact with my admissions rep multiple times. Do you think having a sibling at notre dame will help me get admitted? Do you know of people with siblings at ND who applied and didn’t get in? thanks! I’m very nervous 
Go Irish! I am not sure how it is now, but three of my siblings did go to Notre Dame…at one point all 4 of us were there (I was at Saint Mary’s for nursing). My guess is that it does not help as much as legacy, but it may give a nudge if on the fence. On the other hand, I do know of a few sets of sibs in which the other did not get it…but they were not very qualified applicants.
