November 2008 SAT Subject Test: Spanish with Listening

So I just took the Spanish w/ Listening subject test, and thought it was ~ medium difficulty. For those of you that also took it, what did you think? Please keep all discussion related to the spanish sub. test in this thread.

P.s. that question that included aprovechar as one of the answers really got me...thats the only question that I just totally spaced on

didn't know the aprovechar one either...it was like Cuando [name of boy] duerme, su madre _______ para...

-aprovecha
-echa
-?
-?

Had no idea and I cant remember the whole q or 2 answers...

yeah, well I knew echar meant to throw, so that didn't make much sense. Thing is, I didn't really know what the sentence was trying to say..

I think its aprovechar because the sentence was saying something like when her son sleeps, she takes advantage of it to rest as well...right?

you guys...itsnt it just sospechar?? she suspects that he had a party. taking advantage of her son would be a lil creepy

yeah i dont remember the other answer. this test was strange but it was way better than the one without listeing

isnt echar para and idiomatic expression? i didnt pick aprovecha because it didnt fit grammatically in the sentence.

I put 'echa'. I agree that was a confusing one. Overall, I thought it was very easy.

Does anyone remember the question about the performance in Russia. It was number 61 and the choices were:

1) mont

i put triunfo too... "...triunfo el miercoles..." o algo asi

i wasnt sure of these ones

1.picture of bananas

2.guy asking for a ride(i think)

mom's advice to son asking for money

5 Charlie Chaplin

Ad questions

1.) i chose the one that said "rebajadas"
2.) yes. i chose "sube al carro" or something like that.
3.) she said the money is on the way and for him to dress warm.
5.) yea he was a little hard. do you remember the question?

chose rebajadas too..b/c it was the only one that made sense

i chose the one where the girl says "come on in the car"

same as above

charlie chaplin...i chose the one where he's talking about the guy being "el maestro de humor"
and anyone know what was so great abt the guy chaplin was talking about? i put that he starred in a lot of movies and (for another question) his name was source of spanish words

yes i agree with all of the above.

aww. i almost put for him to dress warm :(
what was the advertisement about?

it was about movie rentals (like blockbuster). the ad claimed that it was better than the rest b/c u could get movies 6 months b4 release date or whatever. and for another answr i picked something along the lines of "go there and see for yourself"

So does anyone know what the curve usually turns out to be for the Spanish w/ listening subject test?

I would like to kno also! i only want a 650 haha.

bumpity bumppy bump

surely there has to be more peeps interested about the spanish!

yea c'mon guysss!

I took Spanish w/Listening!

It was easier than the Barrons practice tests. On those I had been getting mid 600s. Hopefully on the real thing I can break 700.
