November 2009- Chinese with Listening Test

I just did my Chinese with Listening Test this morning.. did anyone take it? and how did you feel about it? There were like 2 questions that I wasn't sure with..

In the listening test, I think it was number 19, they were talking about juices and drinks, and the answer choices were: a) "I'll have a coke". b) "The apple juice tastes bad" or something and c) (I don't really remember) . was the answer b)?

In the reading section, one of the questions was saying : "if you get into an accident or something on the road, call me immediately". I was debating between the answer "wan yi" and "yi wan".. which one was it?

I hope we all did well.. Thank you!

I put a for the juices one and wan yi for the accident one

oh shoot I think I got them wrong then… why was it a for the juices one? was coke listed by the man? thanks!

yeah, i took it too today. The juices one was definitely A. He was asking for a drink, but the person said he didn’t have any. however, he said that he did have coke, sprite, some other beverages, etc. So he said, oh, then I’ll have a coke.

Anyhow, On the reading, did anyone get the one with the advertisement

Was it a printing company or a postal?

And for the second to last question asking about the items to pick up after the flight. What was not mentioned?
It was either hotel reservations or a passport?
I wasn’t quite sure about those.

I put “I’ll have a coke”
wanyi
Print Company
and passport

Sweeeet! thats what I guessed.

How about another one on the grammar section, where it went something like… "the teacher often taught us ______ China’s history or something?

one of the answer choices started with guan.

uh oh … I put printing company and car rentals for the flight one… are you sure it’s passport? and ya it’s the one with guan :)

Yeah, 关于 and
I put passport because I did not see the phrase “护照” which means passport.

I put passport, but now I’m thinking it over logically, and why would you pick up your passport?

Usually people hold their passports with them when they travel.

I thought passport was included in the visa thing (second last line i think), so I put car rentals… was car rentals mentioned?

Crap, then I probably got that wrong.

i’m pretty sure car rentals were mentioned… i chose “passports” since the “passport” response seemed like it was referring to getting you an actual passport as opposed to a visa

I have an question I wasn’t sure on… what did you guys say for the one question in the reading section where it was like Today’s Really hot ____ “Something not as hot as before” or sum (I cannot remember)

Also for the listening question #6 I couldn’t hear the words exactly cos my inspector was next to me answering question to someone else… but it was like the one of someone asking how long do your work and the guy answering I work for 3 hrs or 3 nights… I couldn’t decide.

Wth, it was hotel reservations. The advertisement gave you car rental and restaurant, not hotel.

Nope it was 签证 which means VISA it didn’t say 护照 which means passport so the company does not help you get your passport… I got that one wrong too. now does anyone remember listening question #6? and the one with the 今天天气炎热_____往年那么热… I couldn’t remember the exact multiple choices… sorry.

oh my god, this is horrible, seems like we all got different answers for the travelling agency one… I still think it’s car rentals, because they said pick-up and drop-off from the airport, not car rentals… and I think passports are included in the visa thing…

for the summer one, I think I chose “ran 'er”… I was not sure at all just so you know… what were other choices again?

Did you guys feel like this test was overall harder than the practice ones? the choices were soooo debatable and vague!!! :(

do you still remember the question?

sorry which question?

well in theory (this is in theory), are we not allowed to miss 2 questions and still get an 800?

The question that starts with 今天天气炎热_____… I cannot remember the rest, and what was listening #6 guys?, and I think we can miss like 3 question and still get 800.
