November 2009 SAT Test Discussion

So... what d'ya think?

I thought it was way easier than the October test.

I want to discuss it but we have to wait right??

ARGH! The essay prompt was HORRIBLE!!!

how come everyone discussed the oct 2009 test, but we cant talk about this one?

it was pretty easy… anyone know what the non-scored section was?

dependent on your test version, mine was math (THANK YOU GOD) - section 6

how do you know? Mine was writing with the 35 questions…I couldn’t tell which one it was though

how do you know which section it was? i know that mine was math too but not sure which section

if you had 4 of any sections, then that was the experimental

how do you know which out of the 4 was the experimental though?

you don’t- however, the scored questions was for everyone so the questions that you had that I didnt (because i had a writing experimental) then you’ll know that that section was experimental

when can we start discussing the actual questions?

tjhe embargo on the subjects tests has been lifted. i dont know about the regular SATs tho.

we can start discussing now - embargo lifted.

i think that my section 6 Math was experiemental because i barely finished, and i usually always have time to spare…

anyone know the answer to the 2 small passages about free will and disposition: question #9 (what would author 1 say about writers in passage 2)?

i had ‘they are deluding themselves’, but then switched to ‘they had to overcome a lot’ because the writers themselves never said that they had free will, the author of the passage did

also, does anyone know the jist of the last CR passages about hydrogen fuel cells?

i thought that author 1 wanted to end oversea dependence on oil at all costs (price and environmental), and that author 2 was doubtful about the use of hydrogen energy because it required pollution from coal/gas to create

I said deluding themseles
-what did you guys say was most similar to “play with the cards already dealt with” (something like that) I said “chain rattling off … made centuries ago”

-wait, am I the only one with the writing experimental?

yeah, cards was chain rattling off.

why did you put deluding themselves?

hey 45fly, did you have math with #20 being, whats smallest value of y= a + b(x-c)sqrd?

also, i had 35-question writing w/ passage about emotions/facial expressions

anyone remember the math question that was in a coordinate plane and had a circle inscribed in a square. told you that the area of the square was 25 pie and asked for x?

did NOT have hydrogen fuel cells at all, not even for my experimental…

i dont think i had that one, but i had math experimental…

do you remember any other questions from that section?
