November 2010 - Biology (E/M)

I don’t really remember any specific questions either; then again, I didn’t think the test was nearly as difficult as the rest of the people on this thread seemed to think it was, so it would probably be better if you didn’t take my word for it.

I cant remember anything either…
I know I got a few wrong. Do you remember the last part with the algae in the two ponds?
I know one of the answers had something to do with the phosphorus.
Another had to do with the nitrogen.
Do you remember the last question?

Same biology. I said it decreased because heat is lost and energy is consumed or something

other answer continued:

roots grow downward cuz of gravitropism aka geotropism
plants leaning towards light -phototropism

another question that had the answer “TAXIS”

@TheMathNerd: um… there was that one on why they put nitrogen
and then… there was one about sugar
I don’t remember exactly what the last question was though…

I totally got the one about “which has fetal development most similar to organisms belonging in chordata” (or something like that) wrong though… aksdjlaksd

^^Yes to all those

What was the question about the bacteria moving toward food???

^Taxis, if your not talking about the E part.

biologygenius… yep thats what i put.

also, why shouldn’t you put any nutrients in a group of three plots for the experiment?

to have a comparison group (control)

what does the data from the above experiment indicate?

-its best to use both phos and nitrogen nutrients

what process changes atmospheric nitrogen to usable nitrates etc?

-fixation

@TheMathNerd: taxis

What was the question about the flower being double fertilized or something?

@nritya I put all those too.

For 44. endosymbiotic theory - because mitochondria and bact. have the same RNA:

Wiki says:
Evidence that mitochondria and plastids arose from bacteria is as follow
"They are surrounded by two or more membranes, and the innermost of these shows differences in composition from the other membranes of the cell. The composition is like that of a prokaryotic cell membrane. "

@nritya
agreed
i was actually just going to put them in kkk LOL

What was the answer to the question about the thing that contained all “other”?
It gives u options of domain, phyla, kingdom, class, etc

It was Kingdom.

@TheMathNerd: I think it was… fruit and something else
and for the second one it’s kingdom

Do you guys remember the data with the eagle shell size or something?

other answer continued:

automatic nervous system problem answer choices:
-reading a book (***?)
-throwing a ball etc…
answer: regulating heart rate during exercise cuz it is involuntary

biology…i think i put sensing a hot stove when you get near it. i think something else is responsible for regulating the heart beat during exersize
