November 2010 - Biology (E/M)

@Peter
good questions!
i thought the answer to the first one was 2.5 or so since it’s initial height (1.5) + its growth (1)

I was actually confused with the second question u mentioned…
anybody help us?

yea i think it was like question 60 something for the ATP 1

Biologygenius, it is 1.5…that’s why when u mow, the same branch hits you on the head everytime!

^I took M. thank god, cause i dont recognize that question

The ATP one was on mine…and I took M.
I put I and III, I think.

it’s 1.5???
***?

^It is. Trees always grow from the top.

can u guys rephrase the 1.5m branch question again?

@bio, yes my ap bio teacher told us that story last year and it popped in my head when i was taking the test.
@goldy, can you be more specific on the question? cause its not ringing a bell

edit:
a tree branch is 1.5m off of the ground. if the tree grows 1 m, how high will it be. or something like that

@niritia,i think the question about plants is green house effect,it increases average temp and and decreases o2

no no the question was which of the reactions release energy…

adp + free phosphate = atp doesn’t release energy, it stores it. therefore it was only I and III.

anyways i think there was an answer about “bio magnification” (the process in which toxic substance are stored as u go up the food chain)
i think

^^That one. I don’t really remember.

For the prokaryote and mitochondria, shouldnt the right answer be because of their membrances?

@bio There was. It was one in the matching section, I think, along with the pollution/greenhouse gases/etc.

@scribbling. no. we discussed how their rna’s are similar.

^i remember putting down something about not having a defined nucleus

anyways guys
i think i had enough of this test now
but thanks for sharing ideas and stuff!
it was really helpful
thank god collegeconfidential was here to rule over college board!!! kkk

@scribbling, I think it’s RNA, but there’s been some debate over it, and different sources say different things.

The defined nucleus had to do with differences b/t prokaryotes and eukaryotes.

@nritya

the one ur talking about is the comparison between prokaryotes and eukaryotes
i think cuz the former doesn’t have a nucleus
