November 2010 - French with Listening

I don't think there's a thread for the test :)
There were definitely a couple of problems I was iffy on like the first one about the video games

Yeah i just winged the test… think i got around 680+. Had no idea what the listening section would be like… not too bad. I was running on about 2 monsters and 1 hour of sleep so i wasnt paying much attntion and missed a couple. Writing section was easy enough. Reading was a *****.

And yeah, what was going on with the video games?

what did you guys think of the test? what did you think of the last two passages about the african village and the guy who does paintings in churches?

what was the one about video games…i don’t even remember that

Hmmm the hardest reading passage for me was the one about the guy that was playing - I couldn’t tell if the harpist dude was happy or not…

Ohgosh. The listening was hard. I guessed a few questions in each section on the listening. Here’s hoping it’ll be a good curve. I did no SAT French preparation - I walked in pretty confident (got 84 in my DELF B2), but it was verryyyy different to what I was expecting.

oh yeah! that was hard, i thought he was happy? or that he was admiring?

I put that he was happy and then changed it back to he was m

yeahh i didn’t put m

Does anyone know what the curve is like for 700+? And does anyone have any clue how this test compared to past listening tests? I know basically nothing about subject tests…

According to old curves, it’s 75 is an 800 O___o I don’t know how accurate this is… I think 700 was 63 which is like 22 omitted or fewer wrong with penalties.

Yikes what did you put for the last listening question? I basically missed the entire conversation because my cd player was having problems at the beginning and my proctor just stood right next to me staring at me…

The African village I didn’t understand… Was he remembering his hometown or something?

^ I believe he was in a new, modern town that reminded him of his native African village. But that threw me off on the first question bc I couldn’t decide if he was in a big city or an African city, bc the passage indicated both.

yeah yeah yeah i thought he was in an african village that reminded him of his hometown. the last listening q’s were about this woman liking fancy expensive goods and her friend telling her that they probably dont taste good and that she can buy the same thing in a supermarket at half price. but i didn’t get one of the questions, i didnt understand two of the choices sooo basically i got it wrong.

By the way in france what d you have to do to obtain a driving license?

Thanks for the responses!

About the driving license I kind of guessed but I think it was expensive, so you have to pay fees… Not too sure

Yeah, I got that it was expensive  And I got that it was a big town that reminded him of other towns.

I put something about a big town and hometown… Maybe they were separate questions

Did anyone choose “monte” for an answer? I may have thought that was montrer!

Wow…did not a lot of people take French or something? hahaha
Yes, there were two separate questions
and I don’t remember that question… uhoh.
