November 2010 - General Discussions - Curve, versions, DH, etc

Bumps :slight_smile: :)

Step on up boys and girlsā€¦ guess away.

By no means should you take this as an absolute, but:

CR - 700
Math - 690
Writing - 710

2100 flat.

But looks like today there were more than 2 versions!

Basically. But it has a STARTLING capacity of predicting the words. BUY IT READ IT MEMORIZE IT.

Maybe DH and CB are collaborating ā€¦

Yeah, often times CB recycles words from old SC

Worst Case Scenario:
Math: 4 wrong, 1 omit (raw score: 48/54 -> 660~690)
Critical Reading: 7 wrong (raw score: 58/67 -> 670~680)
Writing: 5 wrong (raw score: 43/49 -> 690~700)

should be more or less 2100, I guess

^No, I donā€™t think so.

I made a thread about this but apparently didnā€™t see this one beforehandā€“my apologies. I think thereā€™s only 2 versions, and then the whole experimental sections thing just made it seem like more than 2.

Worst case scenario:
CR:
0 omits
maybe 6-8 wrong? (worse 10)

Writing:(the last 10 min screwed me over, but the first section i was catching a lot of mistakes)
1 omit (canā€™t remember)
3-5 wrong

math: (but this was easiest for me so im not too sure)
2 omit (one MC other student response)
2-5 (worst case 6-7) wrong

also how many of you people think the experimental section was easier than the other sections. for the first time i was able to fully understand the text and actually get a 100% on itā€¦

CR: 670-720
M: 680-730
W: 670-720 (Also depends on essay score!)

2020-2170

CR rounding is definitely too harsh. I got 10 wrong June and receive 670. I would say around 700.

http://www.erikthered.com/tutor/SAT-Released-Test-Curves.pdf

June had the most lenient curve possible.

oh haha forgot to mention my essay score lol!
yeah essay should be 10,11,12ā€¦
lets go with 10 as the lowest though
(but can you give me bothā€”10 and 12 :P)

CR - 720
Math - 720
Writing - 750

Overall: 2190

Just a guessā€¦ Whatā€™s the prize anyway? :)

The one that included 7^1600 and the bats etc. I thought the math and reading were difficult but the writing was extremely easy. What do you guys think would be a probable curve for the test?

Predict the curve!

I should have answered the grid ones firstā€¦ Because I could have done the MC fasterā€¦ Iā€™m an idiot, but to late nowā€¦

Our version didnā€™t seem too hard so I predict:

-1 800
-2 790
-3 770
-4 750

You need to read the threads from the Oct. SAT and the ones from yesterday. Both have confirmed that many of the SCs and reading passages have come from previous unpublished tests (June 2010 & Nov. 2005). The 2011 edition of the DH books included words from the June 10 test and both the 2010 & 2011 editions had words from Nov 05.

I think you should consider yourself lucky not cheated.
