I thought that there were 2 or 3 reasonable answers for almost every question. I do not see how anyone can possibly get all of these questions correct.

^
I agree somewhat. It’s hard to distinguish which one to choose, when each can be chosen based on certain standards or clues in the text. But, alas, there is a /best/ answer for each question. Sometimes they might as well be nearly invisible to the naked eye…

^agreed. CB makes it so difficult for us The time constraint doesn’t help at all. We’re not like the test makers, who have loads of time to carefully formulate and choose the absolute BEST answer between 2 or even 3 attractive choices. We have less than a minute on each question (if you count the time it takes to read the passages/poems), so we have to make a very quick decision. Not fair in the least, but I guess everyone has to go through with this lol

Any curve predictions for the Nov test?

^
I hope it’s lenient, but I doubt it. Literature is notoriously difficult. And most of the time, missing only a few will take you out of the perfect score range. So I’m hoping -10 is around a 740, but I doubt it.

The test’s supposed to be hard though. We aren’t expected to get all - or even most - of the questions right. College Board has to make it difficult so there is a high ceiling (so the tests can differentiate between a wide spectrum of abilities).

I think the test does it’s job, albeit at the expense of some kid’s satisfaction (like me).

ugh if -10 is around 740, then i’m probably not in the 700s
i am so dead

^^

I totally agree… I took Lit October last month and got a 630, cried, and memorized all kinds of vocabulary like “allusion, asyndeton, extended metaphor, etc.” for yesterday’s SAT. Not only were the vocab words not on it, I think I did even worse on this one…

Haaaa… time to switch over to USH for December :[

lol I know, I didn’t even bother studying those vocab words. Someone told me all you needed to know for Lit tests were: metaphor, simile, etc. Easy stuff we already learned in school.

I am praying to god for 700+, but honestly, I don’t expect that. As long as I don’t dip into the 500 (GOD FORBID!!! oh. and knock on wood), I won’t kill myself lol

I’m praying for a 700+ as well, but I don’t know… Critical Reading and stuff like that is my Achilles’ heel…

I got 790+ on my other subject tests, but it’s just the second language thing that’s killing my Lit score :(

But, let us weep together if CollegeBoard decide to destroy my day in a couple of weeks when scores come out…

^at least you’ve got those amazing scores from other subject tests! I took lit and math 2 this month, and am taking bio next month. Hoping for a good score on math 2 to make up for this (probably will be) horrible lit score… but math 2 was really hard!

Ugh. ■■■

15 days everyone

Is this thread dead?
I’m being mentally tormented over whether to cancel my score or not! =__=
I already have 3 subject tests done with, so I don’t know if a 4th one in Lit will make a difference.

For the ship passage, did anyone put down an answer saying something about how Bennington just returned from his journey and was immediately going back out to sea?
Alsooo where can I find a score conversion chart? Thanks!

lol I’ve been trying to revive this thread, too.
If you think you did horribly (as in 500), then cancel it. If you think you did okay, then don’t. If the schools you’re applying to allow Score Choice, then you can just pick which scores to send out of 4.

^yes, I got that!
hehe

oh yeah, I would like a conversion chart, too. Does anyone have an estimate? Please provide a chart… I’m dying here lol

This is scaring me guys.
I’m taking the December Lit and all I see from you guys are complaints about the difficulty!
I beg to God mine be easier ;)

okay, I think I most likely got 600+, at least
i am HOPING. PRAYING. for a 700+

what would be a good score on lit, guys? i don’t know :S

^
Lol, that’s what it said… I guess bump everything down one.
An 800 on Lit is amazing, anything 700+ is worthy, a high 600s isn’t something to die over, but anything below that is. Lol. At least for me.

haha I am just hoping for 600+. I’m not really great at critical reading/these types of tests because english wasn’t my first language, but I did try my hardest on the test, so that’s all that matters! … not. lol I will be so disappointed if I get 500s :(I am hoping for 600+… if I get 700+, I will be ECSTATIC!

12 more days!

9!!! countdown begins
