actually i think she was the one that wanted to return or borrow (i don’t remember now) but i may be wrong

Wasn’t she at the library or something? And I thought watanabe had the book she wanted to borrow or something, so she had to wait for him to get back?

i think i just heard karite or something so i chose have the guy borrow it. I also am pretty sure i heard “Asatte” and “yasumu” or something so i chose the one where watanabe was absent after day after tomorrow. i dont know though…

How does it make sense that he would be absent day after tomorrow, if she wanted him to borrow it (or wanted to borrow it herself) like right then?

ill be right back guys but please post everything you remember lol

i think she wanted to borrow a book but mr watanabe had it. Then the guy tells her that watanabe won’t be there until after tomorrow (yasumu + asatte). yup, that sounds reasonable xD

Yeahh, that he won’t be there until after tomorrow makes sense xDD

I did so badly on this compared to the practice test…does anyone know what the curve generally is and what kind of score is considered good? I want to know whether or not I should cancel T.T

I have friends that I would consider quite good at Japanese that have received 630/650 on this test… So I’d assume that isn’t too bad - although Generally anything above 700 would be very good for a language you’re not a native speaker of.

yeah angel. I am planning to study japanese in college next year and I have been to japan and all that and am really involved in japanese community ( i am not japanese). I can converse pretty well also (which is one thing that this test can’t measure), but i think i got somewhere around 650. I hope that looks alright on my college app with all my japanese activities and the fact that I want to study languages. I am in my 4th yr HS japanese only

Awesome!! Yeah, Japanese is really great - I went to Japan last summer and did a homestay for a while; it was amazing. Conversation is probably the most important part which, at least, the AP test has integrated into its testing although I don’t think it’s weighted as heavily as it should be. And 650 is a good score(:

He didn’t start the photography club. In fact, he attended the photography fair which is being held once in a month.

I agree that this SAT Japanese with listening test your reading comprehension (without even knowing some of the kanji). Of course, you have advantage if you know all the kanji. However, the test does only ask about the main idea of passage. Once you grasp the main idea, it would help you to answer most of the questions.

@Ryu: I’m really sure he started the photography club… Are you sure?

Yes. I am very sure. The photography club was started by the Indian students. If you notice at the end of the sentence, there is kanji for “ichi” and “getsu”. And if you combine them together, it should be read as 'once in a month". Nothing in the passage claims that ‘he’ started the club.

Hmmm, I recall that he started the club because he found so many people there in India that were interested, but I could be wrong. Wish we had the passage to look at (:

I might also be wrong.

Anyway, does anyone know the curve for this test? If I get wrong for 5-6 questions, do I still have a chance to hit 800?

Ryu, if the curve is that good I’d be hella happy(:

I heard 1-2 wrong = 800 more and you go down, but then again, that’s just based off the practice test I think. Anyone elsek now?

Wow. I thought that language tests have the most generous curve since CB can’t expect us to get right for all questions. We are learning ‘a foreign language’ and everyone knows that even a native speaker makes a mistake (or maybe more?).
