***November 2013 - BIOLOGY E/M***

Yea i dont think its incomplete dominance. Anyone else have an answer?

I think it’s incomplete dominance. If he planted purple seeds that were all heterozygous, then when they mated, some would be homozygous for blue and red.

I also put incomplete dominance for that one and I think I put butterfly for the one with the 2 pairs on antennas. I got the same answers as @corallite for the rest

water is a polar molecule because of the oxygen and hydrogen. The answer to taht question was it was a solvent because although it is a solvent it has nothing to do with water moving up a plant’s xylem.

The seeds one I put red and blue seeds germinate less than purple. It was the only one that made possible sense because incomplete dominance and the last answer blue is heterozygous doesn’t make sense

I can’t believe I got the FH and LSH question wrong… I fricking put uterus because I knew that FH and LSH were associated with the uterine cycle and so I thought “well if it’s related to the uterine cycle then it must be the uterine” -_-

One question that i am stressing over is in the moth passage. It was like this: there were more black moths than light colored moths in the recapture" was this data or analysis?

@jy2013 I think it specifically said the number of moths. So I think I put data

Also the question about the molecule… You can tell the positioning of the molecule with the lewis dot structure and you can tell how many of each atom there are because of the formula.

what did you all get for the question about what happens with the dna you eat?

i said its broken up into nucleotides

For the sagebrush and pine tree… Did you guys put nutrients and water retention was the only difference between the soils? I don’t think it was climate variation

what’s one omitted and one wrong going to get me?

I took Bio M. I’m not really sure how I feel about it. I got a 670 on the practice test I took and I feel like I may have done a bit better on this one. I left 2 or 3 blank but I feel like I did pretty well on the ones I did answer. It’s just those darn Bio E questions in the mixed section (first 60 Qs) that I had a hard time with - molecular is definitely my strength!

I got that the three color question (purple, red and blue) was incomplete dominance. Also for the tree diagram doesn’t it store food in phloem because that’s where sugars and nutrients of the trees are brought down from the leaves themselves? I always thought the pith was dead and phloem is the only living tissue. I put butterfly for the antennae, crayfish for gills and hydra for the double germ layer. Also for the hydrolysis question what did you guys put? I said DNA → RNA is not a form of hydrolysis but I’m not sure.

btw the C6H12O6 question I thought it was position of the atoms. I think everything was possible to find. Also for the last snake question I thought it was 3 or something like that. I spent a good 5 minutes on that question.

hmmm can you elucidate on the snake question a little more, I kind of rushed the last 10 questions cause I thought they weren’t that bad and I had some questions before I needed to look over.

the ploem carries food throughout the plant, the inner mass cells in the center were where the food was stored, that’s what I put

yea you’re right, it’s the pith. the last snake question was what could be substituted out for heat senses or vision or something. I forget the exact question

jy2013 - one wrong and one omitted is a raw score of 78. According to Sparknotes, that translates to a 790

I dont remember a snake question…

I just realized I got the seed question wrong… I’m so ****ed! I’m used to being given the dominant and recessive allele then finding if the trait is incomplete dominance or not, I can’t believe I didn’t think that purple was the heterozygous genotype…

What will a 1 omitted and 3 wrong get me?

Last question on the molecular section,…

Hormone = insulin. Right?

jy2013 - Raw would be 75, scaled 770

Raw = (# correct)-(0.25*#wrong)
Round your raw to the closest whole number then use this table to find your scaled score [SparkNotes: SAT Subject Test: Biology: Scoring the SAT II Biology](<a href=“SparkNotes: Today's Most Popular Study Guides”>SparkNotes: Today's Most Popular Study Guides)

Anyone else got answers to some of the questions in the E or general sections?

Smarty I think I put estrogen. Don’t remember the question that well thou

And I would be happy with a 770… Maybe the curve is better on this test? I thought the questions were very logic based so maybe it was harder than other tests? still freaking ****ed about the incomplete dominance…

One question I remember I took while was the spindle formation one. I put it shows the spindle pull the chromosome from both poles.
