Might as well say it.... I recently received information that someone told everyone in my school that I am gay. I am, but there's a big homophobic population at my school. I came out to some of my friends who I trust and love to death but now everyone knows. a couple of people deleted me from their friends list and un-followed me. It's like people are running away from me. I really don't like this snobby crap. One of my friends who's a guy isn't my friend anymore because he probably thinks I like him...(Are you serious? -.-) I can't even show my face at school tomorrow. It looks like I have to make new friends... (Not my best talent) This sucks SO much, hopefully this will die down, but knowing the students at my school, no one ever knows.

Awwwww! I feel so bad for you just go to school and face them, homophobes are so narrow minded… Support from new jersey! Good luck.

I’m so sorry! I will be your friend haha :)

This is why I’m happy I live in liberal New York. There are a few gay kids at my school and nobody treats them any differently. I’m sorry about your situation and I hope it works out for you :/

I’ll be your friend too! I don’t know why people just cant accept so yeah, lots of love & hugs.

It stinks that it didn’t happen under your own steam…but living your life, in your own truth is never a bad thing. Just remember that the people who are running away, were never really friends to begin with…consider yourself lucky that you have the opportunity to “trim the fat” and focus on the people in your life who are worth your effort. Remember that high school is a mere blip on the radar. Everyone is confused and stressed and insecure and just trying to find their place in the sun…it gets better!

this one kid came out of the closet at my school. he has a lot of friends. everyone still treats him the way he was before he admitted he was gay. but everyone including me thinks about him differently now. also theres a few jokes about him, tho we never say it to his face

Supporting you from the west coast!

Screw ignorants!

Ugh I hate bigots. I’m so sorry that you have to go through this. Remember, college will be a whole new world.

Voberaptor, you kind of disgust me.

:/ People are stupid.

Hopefully when you return to school your true friends will have your back. At least you’re almost out and gone.

I can be friends with you! Supporting you all the way You’ll get through it don’t worry.

Hopefully once you finish high school, college will be way better for you :)

aawww its okay…

:/ It’s okay, I’ll be your friend!

Here in liberal CA, I accept everyone and love them just as much. I think my school has turned a tad bit heterophobic though…

Oh my. I’m sure it’ll get better. High school doesn’t last forever, thankfully. Your true friends will still be standing by you. I have a few friends who are gay. They are such amazing and wonderful people, and I’m sure you are too! Don’t let those bigots get to you and tear you down.

Don’t sweat the small stuff. If someone deletes you in Facebook or unfollows you on Twitter, it’s fine. It’s sad that they would think that it would cause you any feelings besides laughter at the idiocy. Trust me, it gets better. Haters gon’ hate and apparently your surrounded by them. Just show them off by staying happy and being who you are. The best vengeance is done that way. I hope you go to school as a sign that they can forget their effect on you. Hugs to you from NY. :)

If they can’t accept you, they aren’t worth your time

Your real friends will stick with you and see that you’re still the same person. If they can’t accept you for who you are, they were fake to begin with. And don’t let anyone EVER insult or harass you for being gay. There are resources out there. Contact the school administration about any bullying that happens against you, and if they won’t help let me know, I’ve had to deal with homophobic school officials in the past and I know the routes to take.

Just remember, you’re beautiful the way you are, and nobody has the right to make you feel inferior because of your sexual orientation. There ARE people who know that and will accept you. You might have to go out of your comfort zone to find them, but you won’t regret it.

^Aww I love that reply. Great advice!

Is there a GSA? Any gay teachers to talk to? That would help. Our school is full of gay teachers who go berserk if anyone harasses gay people.

Haters gon’ hate, potatoes gon’ potate.
