Now that summer is nearly ending...How productive were you?

You've told yourself your going to do the SAT prep and pull that 2300... or actually be productive.

But now that summer has been flowing and things have settled down into a pattern, are you actively doing productive work or mindlessly wasting time on the internet?

So far mine is the latter mixed in with some summer classes and random summer assignments.

How are the hardcore CCers doing?

Well I was fairly productive this summer. I did my ap homework, ran over 200 miles for xc, and toured some colleges. Plus I started putting together all the logistical stuff for my new club. Other than that I have just been hanging out and relaxing before my hectic junior year starts.

I was productive in being social.
As far as helping to advance myself or my community, I haven’t done ****.

Same as Deziky lol

I worked through the linear algebra textbook I’ll be using in college and currently half-way through physics and calculus.

productive in chilling

Well… I finished my AP homework and got a volunteering gig at a hospital.

That’s it…

I finished reading the required reading list for college… and read a few books here and there. I was over productive in swimming, though.

Not much…

100+ volunteering at the hospital

have been legitimately working for my parents (legitimately = being paid) but for only 2 weeks so far

packing (moving into a house 5 minutes away which eating up the rest of my summer)

playing tennis (2-3 times a week)

SAT prep class (started on Saturday lol)

summer reading (page 80/388 and it’s the only book I have to read)

For a rising sophomore, I’d say my summer has been somewhat productive… but I could’ve done a lot more.

None. My SAT score stayed the EXACT SAME.
My PSAT score rose by 10 points. (Not s in 200->210, but as in 160->170)

And I finished my summer homework in a day, no sleep, no food, nothing.

Nothing. Sheeeeeet… i should prolly start my essays…

Nothing. My school starts after tomorrow and I haven’t done *****. I will do the summer reading tomorrow probably, so that it’s fresh in my mind.

Other than that, i’ve been relaxing way too much and playing tennis way too much :P

I’ve done a lot of non-academic stuff, but I haven’t been as productive as I would have liked with summer homework.

Also I planned to read a AP Euro review book to be more prepared during the year. Lol.

This thread is depressing

So far:
-I’ve gotten pretty far in (some of) my college essays.
-I’ve been running and winning some awards in summer races (earning some street cred on the running scene lol).
-I’ve been volunteering frequently doing odd-jobs for NHS credit etc.
-I enjoyed a trip to Europe with my family.
-I’ve been more social than I expected to be and have otherwise been chilling/doing chores etc.
-I started working on a bass guitar that I’ve been meaning to build for some time.
-I’m thinking I will take up guitar lessons again since I got in contact with my old mentor.
-I asked two teachers to write recs for me before school ended so hopefully I won’t have to worry about that.

I only regret that I didn’t get a job or study for my ACT retake more often. Now, I have to cram. Otherwise, I feel relatively accomplished. My senior year is gonna be rough, though… :/

finished self studying

environemtal
human geo
micro
macro

going to start some others…
psych and comp gov

for national ap scholar

^Now THAT’S productive.

OMG.
I wish I had that dedication. I only decided to self-study about 4 this coming school year

I convinced myself I would learn calculus so I don’t die in BC next year. HA HA yeah right. I’ve read quite a bit, hung out with friends, practiced my instrument (upright bass), biked, organized my house, watched movies. But nothing remotely productive for school.

I have… completed a 1 month internship. Read a few books. Wrote my common app essay.

Uh oh… I’m screwed.
