I read that rolling admissions starts as soon as it comes out. Does this mean as soon as we complete the application we can send it in for review? I still have to take the new sats, and I am going to take them during the next test date. Will this be a late start? I am out of state. Should I send in the application and then send my scores, or wait, or rush them, or what?

have you taken the sat or act at all yet? are you just retaking to get a higher score?

Most applications tend to come "in pieces." If your part is done, send it in. Admissions tracks when all the right parts have arrived, and sends your application on for evaluation then.

Sending your app in early helps. It is taken as a sign of your interest. If it came down to two similar candidates vying for one spot, Michigan would take the one who applied earlier.

I only have the old sat, not the new one. I am a strong candidate for out of state but i know it is a tough pool. I want to apply as early as I can and i will have everything done except for those scores. Will it still be beneficial to send it in early even if it is incomplete (minus new sats)? Or will they only consider it sent when it is complete? When do most people send it in?

According to their undergraduate admissions office, they only consider it complete once its complete. I do not think there is any benefit for sending it in pieces. Rather, I would think they would view you as a more mature, organized candidate if you sent them in at once. (Although I doubt it.)

By saying that applying early without all app. materails is a sign of interest that would benefit you in the application process, that's like taking an unprepared kid who shows up 30 minutes prior to sports tryouts, only to go home to collect his equipment, as opposed to a completely prepared kid who shows up on time.

Bad analogy, but gets the point across.
Just send it in after you have everything.

Yikes, I'm in the same scenario only I have taken both the new ACT and SAT but I'm looking to improve my scores this fall.

Will they review my application and deffer/wait for my fall scores if the ones I have now arent good enough? Or will they wait for my fall scores to come in before reviewing as well?

Same goes for you. I'm in the same situation and asked the same question. i.e. no need for worry, as they will reevaluate your highest test score.
