Now, when you say you write a lot of papers...

hadrian, you took it with the wrong professor hahaha.

14pt font period? i didn’t even know about this before. Gonna try this trick, have this paper coming up that needs at least 7pages and don’t think I have done anything beyond like 5/6 pages. hopefully it worksssss

ctrl+A; ctrl+D

spacing expanded by .1pt

lol good tips here!

for one of my classes last semester, i got away with Calibri 12pt.
it didnt go so well for my English class tho…
“janethedoe, what font is this? unacceptable.”

wow…awesome tips here. I actually got points taken off cause my essay was TOO long. It was only supposed to be 4-6 pages and mine was 8 (I really liked the topic). so yeah…lame…

I am almost done with my first year at Cal, and have counted that I have had to write about ~73 pages total (2 semesters worth), which is about 7 papers for 4 classes out of 7 that I have taken; my other courses content do not require papers, but projects, etc. Not too bad some were ~20 pagers and smallest was 4 page “assignments”. Now the total number of pages read, and “weekly responses” ? Sorry won’t even attempt. haha but you get used to it.

Also, my major is not geared towards writing papers (i.e. english, pol sci., sociology, etc) so I was pretty shocked I even had as much as I did.

god. the longest i have ever written is 10 pages, and that was for AP US junior year. i have a 12-pager this semester, but idk if i can cut 20+ pages…i just…can’t

typical upper div philosophy class at UCLA = 2 or 3, 4-8 page papers per quarter… but they’re dense as ****…

Longest paper’s I’ve had at Berkeley were 17-20 pages for senior seminars. They’ve combined junior and senior seminars now because of budget cuts, so I’m not sure what the page length is now. If you take the honors program in English you must produce a 40-60 page thesis. Also, the period trick is easily caught by professors who know MLA format. MLA is 23 lines to a page and if you mess with the spacing using the period trick it will only be 21-22 lines. The only legitimate way to add length to a paper (and it’s still bad) is to have each paragraph end with a one word line.
