I have been accepted to Cornell University through early decision and recently received my financial aid package. It says that my student contribution is around $2,300, while my parent contribution is $3,700, which means that Cornell has given me around $52,000 in grant money and federal work-study. Please correct me if I misunderstood this. My question is: if I receive an NROTC Scholarship (full tuition and expenses, does not pay room and board), where will that grant money go? Will the financial aid award be canceled? Will I have to pay for room and board if I receive the scholarship? If that is the case, I believe that I will have to pay more money for room and board (around $12000) if I receive the scholarship than I would have to pay Cornell if I didn't get the scholarship (around $6,000, according to my financial aid package). I'm sure that I am just misunderstanding something. Please help!
