NROTC Scholarship

I'm not sure if this should go into the "what are my chances" forums but since it's regarding a scholarship I decided to go here first.

I am interested in joining an NROTC program when I go to college. I am a high school junior ranked in the top 10% of my class. I participate in various EC programs both in and outside of school as well as do community service. I have not participated in any sports throughout my career but since I decided I wanted to do the NROTC program and will be getting in shape am considering doing Track my senior year. I am also currently looking for a part time job. I have a 1910 overall on my Sat, 580 reading, 650 math, and 680 writing. I participate in various honors societies as well. I plan on double majoring in Computer Engineering and Linguistics.

If I were to apply for this scholarship what do you think my chances of getting in would be?

Retake the SAT as soon as possible to raise your score. Start working on the NROTC scholarship application right away and get it in as early as you can. You will be much better off if you can get the scholarship. Navy is not taking on non-scholarship kids as frequently as they used to.

Thanks a lot! I’ve been studying for my SAT’s which I’ll retake in June in order to raise them. I’ve been working on the rest of the application I just need to finish my essays and contact the person I first spoke about it with so we can review it together.
