Hi all - I have posted this question on the SA forum, but will ask it here too.
How are NROTC scholarships presented at the scholarship assembly? Who does it? I've noticed some posters specifically ask certain individuals to do the honors for the SA recipients. Do we contact the ROTC unit about this or is it automatic? Thanks!

At Virginia Tech the man in charge of the Corp of Cadets said he would send a certificate for presentation at senior awards..........as to the who......beats me LOL!

For my S, the Chief who was in charge of NROTC recruiting for our area came to the Awards night presentation (looking very impressive in the dress whites) and went up to the microphone and said a few words about the history of ROTC, the honor of military service, etc. He threw in something about it being unusual for two students at the same school to be getting NROTC scholarships (I have no idea if this is true or not). Then he called S and S's best friend up on stage to receive the certificates. It was so cool to see the two of them standing up there together while their classmates clapped and cheered. They are such great friends.

Based on our experience, I would say you need to contact the NROTC recruiting office for your state and go from there. It probalby would do no good to contact the unit at the college he plans to attend. Since classes/exams are over, they have probably cleared out for the summer.
