Nsc

I've seen the schedule of the NSC, but it didn't give out a lot of info. Does anyone know how they split up groups, which sessions are most important to go to, and how schedules will get made?

I attended NSC last fall with my son. Some of the meetings are mandatory, the rest you pick and choose what is of interest to you. They don’t split you up into groups. As for your schedule, on day one you’ll meet with your academic advisor based on your major and plan out what classes you need. You then have the afternoon/evening to sit and work out a suitable schedule for yourself. If you have a laptop, bring it. You’ll be able to view the catalog and plan your schedule easier. Then on day two you’ll report to a specific location to actually register for classes. Be sure to have a second and/or third option selected in the event that any of the classes or times are full.

There will be breakout sessions with his specific major the afternoon before they register. Any questions can be asked then. Definitely take a laptop if at all possible and your student can check the available class times the night before. It’s a little nerve-wracking sometimes (last year there was drama in engineering - the physics department had somehow shorted the # of spots and very little was open - but by the next morning there were a few new sessions opened up and most kids got what they needed). Even if you don’t get all the classes you need setup there you can ask your advisor to help via email when you get back home.

my high school doesn’t give out final transcripts until June 14th, but my NSC is June 2-3. The school said something about giving us a letter that says we will graduate on such and such date at end of May. Does anyone know if A&M will consider that good enough to go ahead and schedule us into classes? I’ve done my online math test and all, just need that final transcript…
