I recently was accepted to the National Student Leadership Conference.

It costs about $1500, however, I can afford to pay for it.

Is this something worth doing? Will it look good on my college application?

My daughter did a NSLC in medicine the summer after 11th grade. I’m quite sure it had no impact on her college acceptances, but she sure did have a good time.

If you’re doing this purely to make your college application look better…don’t bother. But if you’re doing it because the topic interests you and the place you are going to interests you…and you can afford it…then go.

From experience, anything that you have to pay for isn’t worthwhile for honors in the admission process. I’ve been invitied to NSLC in medicine for the past 3 years, but have passed it up to attend more presitigious summer academies. Do you have Governor’s school where you live? Because colleges love that.

I live in NY so no…lol
