Hi, I would like to apply for NSLI next year, so I have some questions, thanks in advance!
1) Can they see your grades? All it asks for is if your grades are b/w 2.5-4.0 GPA

2) Do Freshmen have a slimmer chance of getting in?

3) Tips for application?

THANKS

1) You have to send a transcript, so yes, they can see your grades.

2) As with all competitive HS programs, younger students will always be at a disadvantage due to older students generally having a greater level of maturity.

3) Dedication to foreign language learning as demonstrated from past experience. Experience in international travel and/or living abroad. Check the following for more tips:

Thanks for the link!
Also, what do you mean with “due to lower level of maturity?”
Does that mean younger students will not have as much experience doing these kind of things, therefore lesser of a chance to be accepted
Or
Does that mean they are not as keen as older students, and ignorant of others people’s feelings?

Older students have more experience
