That physical drove me nuts!!! Thank goodness I had examinations in the past year for sport activities at school and just ask the docs to put the stuff on these forms. I sent them out today…what a relief.

Indeed this thread is pretty dead. Hoping to hear from them before end of march so I can sign up for some camps if I don’t somehow make it.

Klika, better hurry (it’s good that you remembered)! Offer ends March 12, 2010 >_o

Got the medical appointments done, but need a cavity filled before the dentist will sign! They are trying to work me in somehow before the 12th.

Anyone else apply for gap year? I was told there were very few of these available, but I’m still hopeful.

I would hope that if I was going to be too old they would have weeded me out before the semi-finalist stage. According to the ages, I should be fine because I will still be 18 before the deadline. Where did you hear about the person who was denied? Was it before the interviews?

Time goes by fast. It’s already March 11! Hope everyone sent their medicals in by now or will tomorrow. Just out of curiousity, but around when should I start expecting notifications from them as to being accepted or not?

O_O April would kill me. March 15th sounds nice, but sadly, unrealistic. Who knows? Maybe magical unicorns shall rain upon me the happiness of knowledge.

Hey you guys; You need to not think about this. If you keep obsess over it, you will be exhuasted before you go on the trips. My D is waiting for the acceptance letter from LBW and it won;t come until end of April. Meanwhile, life must go on with plan B, or even plan C. Good luck to you all.

Crap! I was signing my medical forms last night, when I saw that they actually had to be postmarked March 12th. I had written in my calendar that they needed to be sent in on March 15th. The past two weeks have been really hectic because I had to represent my school in a big state-wide competition this weekend, and I didn’t notice that the form was due earlier than I had thought. OH NO!!! What should I do? I will definitely have it in the mail Monday morning, but I don’t know what else to do. Should I call their office? Do you think that they will forgive this simple mistake?

I sent my forms in today through FedEx priority shipping and they should arrive Tuesday morning. I also emailed the office and will call it tomorrow. Ughh… I hope everything turns out okay.

The NSLI website stated that it needed to be postmarked by March 12 in order to still be eligible for the scholarship. I would call to see what you can do.

^Joc, do what he said. During the original application, I had forgotten to check with my mom to see if she did her part with the parent recommendation, and pretty much had heart failure when I realized she hadn’t even received anything to fill out. I wrote out this huge email apologizing and begging to extend my time. I’m not sure if it was because others experience it too or by blind luck, the deadline was extended =] the morale of the story is: You never know what can happen unless you try. Good luck! Be polite and explain to them what happened.

Forrest, I’m operating on auto, but indeed I should relax. It’s just that this keeps me excited like a little kid…:D

I emailed them, and fortunately, they said it wasn’t a problem if it was postmarked a few days late. They don’t use it at all to evaluate the applicants for the final selection, but they just need to have it completed in case you’re selected. Whew!!!

Anyone else hoping to go on the China summer program?

That’s my third choice! I leaning towards Korea or Russia, the other popular one…I still may be able to go to China even if I don’t make it in this time, as there is another program in my area, but who knows >_< take me out of the US! I don’t want to eat another cheezburga anymore!

I signed up only for the China summer program. The interviewer reassured me that it would be competitive for me to get in, but I have confidence that I am a fine enough candidate and should make it in. If I don’t make it in, I still have college next year.
