Haha I hope so too Sore. My guess is that we all wake up to emails tomorrow morning, so Monday at 8:00!

Monday the 12th… 5:15

Ugh so I have to go to Washington D.C. to get my expediated passport. Thankfully AFS is giving me a letter telling them it is needed URGENTLY haha it is bolded and underlined in the letter!

Not to make those who still haven’t heard nervous… this is due to Russia’s visa process.

oh my gosh the suspense is killing me!
I have butterflies in my stomach!
can you guys whom applied for South Korea let me know too when they have recieved their acceptance email!

Anyone heard anything??? I was sure that they would send some notifications today. The suspence is killing me.

Nothing for me yet.
Im literally checking my email every five minutes!

has anyone heard? i’m checking my e-mail every five minutes or so - this is driving me crazy !

haha, glad to see that I’m not alone :D

Ughh, I’m beginning to give up hope for tonight :(

yupp me too definitely not gonna happen tonight

I guess we have to wait until tomorrow ;(

Guys, chill. If anyone should be freaking out, it should be the seniors because they have the most stressful schedule with college and everything. Just ignore the impulse to check every few minutes because assuming their keeping a steady pace, it won’t arrive in time for the April 15th deadline they originally set, meaning that they’ll be forced to extend it to who knows when. Check maybe once a day at night, twice at most (once in the morning and once before you go to bed).

Chewy is right. This is out of our control. Yes, we all want to know as soon as possible but there is no way to know in what order they are making decisions. Everyone has their theories, but they are just that: theories. I only started the guessing game to add a little levity to the situation, not to engender more speculation on when the emails would actually come. So let’s sit back and take a deep breath. Check your email a couple of times a day, a few more if you just can’t stand it. We’ll all know something soon!

oh I hope it’s this afternoon!!! I can’t believe they are doing this to us.

Hey guys… So I applied to the nsli for youth programs… I’m really looking forward to getting a letter back from them. I talked to some people who were able to be a part of this program twice… I though that was pretty unfair because it took away slots for the other people who really want to go as well. It’s such a great program and it sounds so exciting!

I was scared to see that there were already four more pages added after a week, because I was worried people were already getting acceptance letters. Obviously NSLI-Y will not be sending out these letters until after this Thursday, because no one here has received acceptance letters yet. When I get the letter though this Thursday or Friday, I plan to have my parents read it first as I step out of the room and have them come to tell me themselves. It’s going to be a glorious day of excitement and great joy!.. I hope. I bet more than half of you all on this forum will get accepted if you feel just even good about your application and interview; I know I did and have had no worries these past two months. I applied to study in China this summer as my first and only choice, and am hoping I get to go to Shanghai, Beijing, or Nanjing! Wish you all the best of luck!

I was accepted to Russia on Thursday - we didn’t get letters. Just an e-mail!

emails were sent out for the india program at 5:30 EST.

Uhm, I was checking this other forum (cultureshock) and this person got accepted to the India program today. She said that they told her to respond by the 20th, so I’m guessing the 15th isn’t the ‘set in stone’ deadline? Maybe the deadline changes according to when you recieve your acceptance letter…

I hope that gives you guys more hope. ^__^

Thank you for telling us about India!! At least things are ‘rolling’ : D
