NSO Parties

Too elaborate on a thread from earlier.... how do incoming freshman go to these parties? Do we just skip out on the optional nso stuff and go party haha any details and advice would be nice thanks

Parties are at night. Penn isn’t WVU and we’re not alcoholics. NSO stuff is during the day and right after dinner. Advice? Don’t drink too much and have some fun. Also, try to avoid going around in large groups of 20.

In all honesty, skip the mandatory things, go to the optional things and go to parties off campus, but as Venkat said, for the love of God don’t go around with your entire hall!

Definitely go to the Penn Traditions event… Glee Club is performing and that means you get to see my lovely face haha

The mandatory things were good to go to for me because most of my hall went. It’s a nice way to get to know people kindof.

More advice: bring booze to your room and have pregaming and postgaming parties there if you want to have lots of friends during NSO (disclaimer: half of those people will probalby never talk to you after NSO).

Can you guys explain why we wouldn’t want to go around in large groups?

Being in large groups is probably a great way to meet people. However, it’s hillarious to us upperclassmen to see mobs of 20+ freshmen walking up Locust and Spruce in search of parties. I’m not saying I didn’t do it during NSO as a fresman. In fact, my first night I found myself in a group of like 60 kids (like 3 halls merged together) all walking into one unsuspecting house.

so if were not in huge groups are most frat parties welcoming to freshman during nso or are they like *** are yall doing here lol

Well most upperclassmen probably won’t go until closer to classes if I had to imagine so I guess the parties are FOR freshmen.

sounds good see yall there haha

bump for my NSO brahs
