I was wrong about mine above - we actually have 19. We have the courses in 14 subjects - but within the subjects there are multiple tests; like AP English vs. AP Literature and WHAP vs. APUSH.

5 AP classes, average ACT 24 (all students must take in district), no reporting on the small number of kids who take SAT. USNWR silver school. 7 national merit scholars (not normally that high, unusual class – average graduating class is around 200) the vast majority stay in the midwest for college/uni.

81% of the class takes the SATs, and about 65% go to four year colleges. Averages for those that attend four year colleges are about 30 points higher in each section.

NoIdeaDad…AP is a “brand”…ask your guidance office what the most rigorous classes at your school are. They should also be listed on your school profile. We only have 5 AP brand classes but a handful of classes (mostly science and language related) that are really tough but not AP brand.

momofthreeboys… Thanks for your advice.
My child is taking AP exams because other kids are taking them.
My child’s HS does not have any AP course but we don’t worry about the rigor of his classes.

I am really shocked by the number of AP classes some schools offer.

^^I’m always “shocked” also by the money spent by some school districts. We have a “frugal” district which as a taxpayer I appreciate!

Sorry, misread the question. Not sure on either question.

5 APs

No clue the avg SAT/ACT is that in the school report?
