For those of you that were either accepted into Penn or are applying, how many AP classes did you take junior and senior year?

Thanks

My son will have taken 14 by the time he graduates high school, which is probably way more than most people.

That being said, I don’t think that the TOTAL NUMBER of AP classes you take is that important a consideration.

As long as your transcript shows that you took a stringent high school curriculum, that should be good enough.

In other words, I don’t think my son, who is also applying to Penn, has any sort of advantage over you, just because he took so many AP classes.

For example, his ECs are not that strong, but his SATs are very strong.

The total number of AP classes you take are probably way down on the list regarding factors Penn will consider important.

I took 24. Any fewer is a guaranteed rejection. Good luck.

/sarcasm

Seriously…as long as you’re challenging yourself academically within the context of what your high school provides you, you’re fine.

The number of APs you take doesn’t matter. All that matters is that you take the most challenging course load your school offers, or at least the most challenging course load that you can handle and do well in.
