Number of APs

Hi,
I want to apply to TCNJ Early Decision and I am taking AP Comp Sci. I plan to take AP Lang, APUSH, and AP Macro(Or Micro) junior year(currently a sophomore). How many AP courses do you think I need to take to get in? I plan to be a History Secondary Education Major. Thanks!

I don’t think it is quite that simple.
But, to answer your question, my child was accepted ED with one AP junior year and one Duel Enrollment senior year.

my S accepted with no AP’s

Tcnj would likely be satisfied with 4-6 AP classes including at least one AP history (two better) + AP English language and, if you can, AP in a foreign language.
(Learning a foreign language as far as you can and learning about their area’s culture and history would be important academically in college, but most importantly teaching social studies/history in Spanish, French, or Chinese is much in-demand* for immersion programs as is esl social studies.)
AP Micro /Macro, AP us/comp gov, AP human geography, apes, and AP CS principles would all be good Add-ons if you wish - add all three from biology, chemistry, physics (even regular), math through pre-calculus, and, if you can’t take language up to AP, take it to level 4 as much as possible.

  • it was in such high demand that Hunter College had to create a master's program urgently just for NYC's immersion programs.
