I have a 89 gpa and a 1420 on the SAT. I was hoping to apply to Hunter, NYU, Stony Brook, and University of Scranton for their nursing (bsn) programs. Can anyone tell me if I have any chance in getting into these colleges? Any advice? Thanks!
I don’t know, but I’d suggest applying to a few additional programs. It is not only a matter of getting admitted, but being able to compare net costs after need based and merit based aid. NYU will probably have the highest net cost by far.
And, just meeting the minimum qualifications is no guarantee of admission. Nursing programs often have more competitive admissions than the rest of the university.
So perhaps cast your wide wide both in terms of qualifications and, as @Charliesch said, finances. The higher you are based on their usual admissions pool, the better your chances for merit money.
With those numbers, you should consider the direct entry program at SUNY Plattsburgh. It’s a very good program.
