So I might be interested in i-banking for the first couple years when I first graduate. What kind of schools do top banks in NYC really like?

I know that Columbia and Cornell grads definitely have success at i-banks. How about schools like NYU or the Cooper Union? Can a degree from these schools seem impressive to companies in the top banking companies in the NYC area?

Interesting...I heard from some people that The Cooper Union is actually looked at with more prestige within New York City than both Columbia and NYU. This really goes against what Tpeck is saying.

my post is a little bit off topic... but anyways...

really if u think about it... at the end, when people get recruited, i dont think the name value of the school have much influence as long as they're okay... for instance, nyu-stern, despite its prestigious name value, i personally consider wharton to be much better in every aspects except for the location; yet, when it comes to recruiting, I dont see any dramatic difference or any advantage Wharton students get over Stern students.

So my ultimate question is, if the ultimate result is similar and if they both get a same opportunity, why study ure ass off in hs or in college? (not saying that stern is easy to get in, but it is by far less difficult and less competitive than Wharton)

I thought i-banks favor engineering students because they're very analytical and don't mind working the long hours. I'm sure Cooper Union, if you're interested, could land you an i-banking job.
