I-banking at Columbia

As I make my decision on which school to go to, I was wondering how hard is it to get into the investment banking field through Columbia? Do recruiters from all of the banks recruit at Columbia? How many grads go onto investment banks?
If anyone has info that compares Columbia to other schools for this area, it would be appreciated.
Thanks

Well dude, I don't know much on the topic, but it has come up before. Until someone gives you a good answer:

New York is a financial center; it would stand to reason that firms in New York might be looking for graduates from the best school in New York...

I don't have any statistics, but what would you expect? If you study economics, etc. and graduate with honors from Columbia, why wouldn't you be able to get a banking job in New York?

different firms will go recruit at different places. however, i know that some places in NY (ie citibank) go straight to wharton first

honestly, you can go into i-banking from many fields/majors, from any school (uh, normally top-tier ones). pick the school you like best. i guarantee it won't matter that much whether you're coming out of yale or columbia.. have a great 4 years, do well, and you can do anything you want
