I have just read some of the posts about NYLF programs on CC. I had not yet discovered CC when my S signed up for this program for this summer. It now worries me a little. This program seemed attractive because he is interested in becoming a lawyer and we hope the program helps improve his understanding of the field. There don't seem to be many programs out there that provide HS students with this kind of experience so when we saw this one we jumped on it. Do any of you have any experience with this program or any others related to law for HS students?

I don't know about law, but I went to a CSLC program based around Crime Scene Investigation and Forensic Science (I want to be a criminal psychologist).

I learned a TON on that trip...they had real people from the field come talk to us, including two FBI agents (that was my favorite part). We also got to do several labs, which was fun also.

Anyways. I think these programs are really good for the reasons your son is going..to get exposure in a given field. They're not good for college admissions, but I'm sure your son will have a GREAT time. Don't worry. :)

Thanks, that is encouraging!
