I just got a letter of nomination from the National Youth Leadership Forum on Medicine and I was wondering if this program is worth it? Would it be better to apply to something else?

Hi

I got this very professional looking letter with a special seal and everything. However, I personally do not think it is worth it. I think the cost is something in the range of $3000. Frankly, I would rather go on a cruise. This is something you can put on your college app, but if the next guy puts something like TASP or RSI, then you lost that battle. I’m assuming it could be a good experience, but its not ver prestigious. I would definitely recommend applying to some other program, as there are lots of them out there.

smells fishy, who nominated you? I have been trashing doctor related pseudo nominations for 30 years now

Almost everyone gets those letters. Qualifications: your family’s finances
