@burndtjamb2000 around mid march or so (i’m guessing 13th). for future applicants: DO NOT RELY ON THE FA CHANGE. i had my hopes up, and the waitlist killed me.

My background:

I applied to the accelerated nursing program for Fall 2013 by the priority deadline (March 1). I went to a no name college, graduated with an average GPA, did Americorps, took pre-reqs and there, I got a 4.0. I’ve worked for 3-4 years in non-profit/infectious disease world and decided to apply to nursing school. I ended up only applying to one - NYU.

Since mid-March, I have been obsessively checking Albert login. It was only yesterday, 4/8, that I noticed the following change under Financial Aid: 2014-New York University-Award access not available. That changed from Award Access not available. I obsessssively read this thread and ahd to stop because I was freaking out so much.

This morning (4/9) at 8:52 a.m., I received an e-mail saying I got accepted! I don’t know if the theory’s true but it seems that they notify you immediately after the FA change. They still haven’t posted my award though…

Good luck to everyone! Tis’ a stressful time.

they replied to me saying they’re still considering my aid application, but that I won’t get more than a few thousand dollars
@burndtjamb2000 - are you international?
@colombiaca and pyrasical, have they given you guys any money?

Not yet, I’ve called them like 5 times and they only picked up once. They said that they couldn’t find my financial aid information and then never called me back -__- now I’m waiting on a reply to my email. My hopes aren’t up though since it seems like all of the people who got a lot of scholarships got theirs early. Did you have to send in the tax forms? I sent in my CSS and FAFSA on time, but I still have my parents’ tax forms with me.

I never sent in tax forms since our taxes work differently, but I think you’re fine because you fill in tax info on the css (I think). this is so annoying - I want to know if I can go…

@fireandice96 I live overseas but technically I’m not an international since I’m a US citizen.

The best way to reach someone, IMHO, is to call and wait on hold … for me, the message said 30-35 minutes wait, but it ended up being 15 minutes or so. Also, the are actually instructions on the fianncial aid website over the best times to call. I found the e-mail response time is relatively slow (48 hours or more).
